P90X over?

After this weekend, thoughts came into my head about this workout program I was doing. Personally, I like lifting more weights and this workout isn’t that type of thing. Don’t get me wrong there is lifting involved, not just the kind that I am interested in. As for P90X, there are some things I am going to bring into my new workout program. This workout program will be two days a week, that’s lifting wise of course. There will be 3 days that are devoted to abs and 3-4 days that I will do cardio exercises.

In the new workout, from P90X, I am bringing AB RIPPER X. This is my favorite ab workout. I see it working and its fun to do, not. I fucking hate it but it works so I will stick to it. As for the lifting, I am combining 2 days of full body exercises. The fully body exercises will hit more then one muscle group at a time, this will reduce the amount of time I am in a gym giving me a quick fat burning workout. As for the other days, I will simply do cardio by running long distance, sprints or c25k with my girlfriend.

Since the last time I talked though about my working out, I completed the legs and back portion of P90X. Wow is all I can say. The leg workout on this disk was incredible. I woke up the next morning aching in pain. That’s when you know that it was a good workout. There were a number of different leg exercises that were quick, explosive and made you really feel the burn. The exercises were probably even better then half of the lifting ones I do in the gym. The thing I like about these types of leg workouts is that they will tone your legs instead of making them husky. When you lift legs in the gym, it increases the size a lot more and causing problems like I have now not fitting into jeans properly.

For the whole weekend my legs have been that sore. When I lift in the gym, doing my legs of course, they don’t hurt for more then 2 days after because I stretch really well, but this workout I still feel the pain as I am writing this.

Tonight I worked out in my last day for that old workout. I did interval training tonight with my girlfriend. She does this program c25k which basically is for people who aren’t used to running and helps them progress in a program that will eventually have them running a 5k or a 3 mile run, same thing. I like this type of cardio because it is fat burning and helps you work up a mean sweat.

Now this week, starting tomorrow I will start this new workout. Hopefully I can stick to this one because I am picky about my workouts.

Day 3/4

Wow what a fucking last two days it has been. Day 3 of P90X was not as bad as day 2 but it was up there. I was glad I wrote before I did day 2 because after plyometrics I was fucking dead! Wednesday though, I did disk 3, which was shoulders and arms. This disk basically does a rotation of three workouts in sets and goes through a number of sets of different things all throughout the workout. The rotation was from shoulders to biceps to triceps. This is one of my more favorite workouts. They are simple and one of my stronger points.

After that was completed, I did AB RIPPER X! I really hate doing this workout because it hurts so fucking bad but I notice it actually works. It is way to many ab workouts, 349 to be exact. It really hurts your stomach but it feels great when you finish and you notice that your stomach is contracting in pain.

Today was day 4. It was suppose to be yoga but the yoga workout is way to long for me. Instead of doing yoga, I decide that my yoga days will be cardio days because in this workout there isn’t any cardio besides plyo’s. So tonight I ran about 1.5-1.75 miles at a good steady pace just to work up a good sweat.

After 4 days of P90X, I am feeling great and can’t complain. There is that feeling that I want to be lazy, but ill over come it and deal with the pain.

Day 2

Today is day 2 of P90X, and I am not looking forward to it today. In about 30 minutes I will start probably one of the hardest disks in the set. This is about an hour to an hour and a half. The workout that I will be doing is called, “Plyometrics”. Plyometric’s  is a type of exercise training designed to produce fast, powerful movements, and improve the functions of the nervous system, generally for the purpose of improving performance in sports (grabbed that definition straight from Wikipedia) I have done these type of workouts before and they are brutal. From the beginning of this workout, I guarantee I will be dripping sweat, and when it’s over my shirt will weigh a ton! I like these types of workouts because they are great cardio workouts and they help you burn fat easily and quickly.

After this workout I will most likely be so drained and exhausted I wouldn’t want to blog about how great but at the same time how horrible I feel from the workout. This workout works your legs the whole time and right now my legs are already sore from running the other night. I’m hoping that this workout will help me improve my running and my stamina. I would like to run longer distances without feeling fatigued or wanting to stop in general.

Let’s hope today goes well and I can complete the entire workout. Wish me luck!

P90X

Today was day 1 of P90x. P90x is a home workout that you can do right from your house. You do not need one of those fancy gym memberships, it’s perfect and you save a lot of money in the long run. This workout is a 90 day program that says will transform your body into top shape. There are 12 different disks that work a number of parts of your body each day. Now the reason I decided to start this workout, instead of going to a gym, is because of time. Right now with school, I have a lot on my plate and this is the best and fastest workout I have researched. But also I want to get into shape. I do lift weights and run on a daily basis but I wanted a change in my workout. I think this will help me get to the shape I want to be in and will help me feel good about the way I look.

I woke up at 6 in the morning today to begin day 1, and wow what a fucking idiot I am. I am so tired from the workout I had this morning. I am used to rising early, but usually that early I am not working out.

Today’s workout is chest and back. It is a very tough workout. This workout has a ton of pushups and pull-ups but for the bitches like me who can’t do any, I use resistance bands. In this workout, there are 6 chest workouts that completely kill you and destroy your chest region. Along with the 6 chest workouts there are 6 back workouts. These 12 workouts are repeated twice leaving you at the end saying thank the fuck god, and that is totally how I felt today when I was done.

After today’s workout, there was more!!! Instead of doing just one workout today, at the end I had to do ABS. The famous AB Ripper X it is called. This AB workout is a pain in the ass and completely wipes you out. When I finished it today, my stomach was so tight and it hurt so bad it made me sick to my stomach.

I would say that today overall my workout went well. I completed all the reps I set my goal to. I would like to improve on my AB workout more. By this I mean do all the reps back to back throughout the whole workout instead of taking breaks during the actual set. Today is only day 1 and I hope by that 90 day I reach my goal and get where I want to be.

Flag Football

Over the last 3 years, I have played flag football. Our team is consisted from a bunch of kids that are my girlfriend’s brother’s friends. I started to play only because they needed a few extra guys because the team absolutely sucked and people started to quit. So my first game I played, was back in 2010, in the fall. I was a bigger kid back then and wasn’t fast but I could catch. Lets just say me and defense didn’t get along to great because sometimes I would cover really fast receivers and get burnt! But on the other side of the ball, I was unstoppable, I dropped nothing. Despite, I only played one game that year, it was a playoff game, and we got our ass kicked, I was glad to return in 2011 in the spring.

In the spring, I came back in much better shape and excited to play. We had a lot of new players who seemed to be good. Some problems down the stretch with not everyone showing up hurt us badly. We played some great games when our full squad was there and our record didn’t show how good we were. We finished again losing in the first round of the playoffs but we had a lot of expectations for the next year.

Which leads me into the present. Right now we are approaching our second week of play. In our first week, we won 34-0. A complete dominate performance from the whole team. We have a new look and a lot of new personal. Our whole team last week played shut down football, and I had a big interception that turned the tables over leading to a score. Hopefully this season will be one to remember for us. We are good this year, maybe the best, but we can only prove it on the field.

TEAM AMERICA!
