This weekend has been great for the Phillies. Despite sunday's 3-2 loss, the Phillies this past week have been on an absolute tear. From top to bottom, they have been hitting, pitching and playing defense fairly well. The Phillies are now at 94-49. WOW! The Phillies are on pace for a record breaking season and have won so many games with key players out here and there throughout the season. Now that the season is coming to a close, everyone should be back and the Phillies will be able to make that complete push over the top for the best record overall and have that all important number one seed in the playoffs. This will be key because home field advantage is huge during the playoffs. With only 18 games left, I like the chances of the Phillies finishing strong and clinching the NL East earlier then expected. I want to see them give some key guys rest and have them be fresh for October.
Now about the PHILADELPHIA EAGLES! Today the Eagles won 31-13. Yes, they did win but still some problems you have to worry about. Michael Vick had some good plays and some bad. The offensive line was not engaged today at all and haven't been from the way I see it since oh yeah I don't remember. They have to find something to work or either Vick will be one sore puppy. LOL. Besides that, the defense needs some work as well. I understand that it's your opening game and the lock out and all that other bullshit people come up with for excuses but it's a game, your a professional, do your job and defend the football. I would give the Eagles a 6 out of 10 today even though they won. Hopefully this week, they figure stuff out, so they can become the dream team that everyone knows they can be.
